BRING THE BOYS HOME

Jonathan and David are twin brothers from a small Eastern European country and have lived all of their lives in an orphanage without the love of a mother and father. Both brothers have cerebral palsy and some learning delays, most of which were effects of living in institutional care. The boys are four years old, and each weigh only nineteen pounds.  Nineteen pounds!  All their lives, they've belonged to no one have never known the warmth of a mother’s smile or the pride in a father’s eyes. They are all alone in the world.

But now, after so long, a family has called them their own. Jonathan and David now have parents and siblings who desperately want to bring them into their family. The only things that stand between them are that giant stretch of Atlantic Ocean and the plane tickets across it.

The Hebbe family is stepping out in faith to adopt David and Jonathan, but they need help. And help is something you can give.

This is an invitation to join a movement—a movement to BRING THE BOYS HOME.  The sooner they make it home, the sooner they can thrive and be the boys that God planned for them to be—and you can bring them one step closer.

How?  Well, like many adoptions, we’re selling T-shirts as a means to raise money (see details below). In addition to simply buying a shirt, you can choose to wear the t-shirt every day for a month, and seek sponsors to pledge an amount for each day the shirt is worn. Here’s how it would work: after you join, you gather sponsors for the month. When “T-month” starts, you start wearing the shirt during the day. Every day of the month that you wear it, the sponsors will give a set amount. This means that by the end of the month, not only will you have raised money by buying a shirt, you’ll have added to that by sharing with others the story of Jonathan and David and raising support through wearing a t-shirt.

If, on the other hand, you want to sponsor someone wearing the shirt, or just donate, follow the link below to the Hebbe family’s blog where you can pledge money for their adoption.

So, to recap the ways you can help--

  1.  Buy a t-shirt for $15
  2. Wear the t-shirt for the month and get people to sponsor you
  3. Sponsor someone who wears the t-shirt for the month
  4. Donate directly to the Hebbe family

Get ready to eliminate all but one T-shirt in your wardrobe for the fine month of February so Jonathan and David can come home, and welcome to the movement!  If you could, just send an email to the address below and tell us a little about yourself. After the month’s started, we’ll be making an honorary post for each wearer we get.  We’ll also open up the blog to participants to share stories and pictures about their t-shirt wearing.

Welcome to T-month! Let’s bring the boys home!
